Frequently Asked Questions

What is Suamico Paddle?
Suamico Paddle is a self-supported (mainly) premier kayak, and paddleboard rental service located in Suamico, WI. We provide high-quality equipment and a memorable paddling experience for individuals, families, and groups.

What types of rentals do you offer?
We offer single and tandem kayaks (double), and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) for hourly rentals. We offer 2-hour rentals and 4-hour rentals.

Do I need to make a reservation?
Yes. We require a reservation online by visiting www.suamicopaddle.com, in advance to ensure availability, especially during peak hours and weekends.

What are your operating hours?
Our standard hours are 8-4pm, but they may vary based on weather conditions and seasonal changes. Check our website or call for the latest updates.

Where are you located?
We are located at 1774 Riverside Dr, Suamico in Suamico, WI, with access to scenic waterways perfect for paddling adventures on the Suamico River. Suamico Paddle's kayaks are conveniently located behind Design A La Mode. There is free parking located near the kayak racks and shed.

Where does the Suamico River take me, and how quickly does the water move?
We are located north of the mouth of Green Bay. A 4-hour rental can get you close to the Suamico Boat Launch/ the mouth of The Bay and back to the launch. The river moves very slowly, which makes it ideal for all levels of kayaking or paddleboarding. Children, dogs, and friends are encouraged to join! We recommend NOT going out of the river into The Bay.

The river is very calm and a great river for beginners. Fast kayaker can probably make it to the mouth of the bay and back in 2 hours. For most 2 hour rentals the turn around is about half way. The way back does take longer typically due to fatigue not because of water flowage. If you are looking to have lunch or try to make it to the mouth and back we recommend a 4 hour rental.

How do I get the kayak from the kayak rack to the water?
We have metal carts that make transferring the kayaks very easy. We ask that you please return the carts to the shed before you start. Please see the videos on our website for more information.

Do you offer guided tours or lessons?
We do offer guided tours for individuals and groups. Please visit our website and contact us for details and availability. We request at least a week in advance notice to accommodate. We have 15 kayaks and 4 SUPs available at any given time, depending on bookings and reservations.

What should I bring with me?
We recommend bringing sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, snacks, water, a small towel, and appropriate clothing for the weather, potentially a change of clothing. You may (will) get wet sitting in the kayak or getting into/out of the kayaks. If you choose to bring a camera or phone, YOU are responsible for those items to keep from getting wet. Life jackets, paddles, kayaks or SUPs, and kayak carts are provided with all rentals.

What if I drop my phone or belongings in the water?
You are responsible for all of your items. Please plan accordingly.

Is there an age requirement for rentals?
Renters must be at least 18 years old or have a parent/guardian to sign a waiver for minors. No matter what age, a waiver needs to be signed online before going out on the water.

Can I bring my dog on the kayak or paddleboard?
Yes! Well-behaved dogs are welcome on our kayaks and paddleboards. Please ensure your pet wears a life jacket for safety. We do not currently have dog life jackets available.

What happens if there is bad weather?
Safety is our priority. If severe weather conditions arise, we may delay or cancel rentals. Customers will be notified and provided options for rescheduling or refunds.

Do you offer group or event bookings?
Yes, we accommodate group bookings for corporate events, birthday parties, and more. Contact us for group rates and special arrangements.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance for a full refund. Same-day cancellations will be subject to half payment.

How do I know how much time I’ve been on the water?
Please bring a waterproof watch or phone with a waterproof/floating case to protect it. Please respect reservations behind you and be on time. If you are not, you are subject to a fee based on the next reservation.
